  • Meh.

    Been in a funk the past couple weeks.  I hope it's just fall setting in and I can pull myself out of it.  In good news, though, Paso Doble class starts tomorrow night and I'm kind of jazzed about that.  One of the ladies who works at the dance studio was trying to talk Joe Cool into joining us - as usual the dance class needs more men.  For entirely selfish reasons, I hope he goes, but we'll see.

    All in all, though, not much new to report.  Happy almost-fall!

  • Cruising into fall

    Or maybe that should be dancing into fall?

    I think this is a Birckhead-style bullet list.

    • Dancing - good stuff.  Tango, salsa, and starting next week ... paso doble! 
    • Travel - went to San Francisco last week for some developer training.  Vacation next month on the east coast.  Back to San Francisco in November for a user conference.
    • Apartment - there's some pretty serious maintenance type stuff going on, which requires me to really get a handle on keeping things clean and uncluttered.  It's good for me.
    • Work - well, work is work.  They did send us to training last week, which is awesome.  The plan is to get certified on both the developer and advanced developer certs (the first is a prerequisite to the second) by the end of the year.  I am working on a couple projects that I am excited about, and I hope I can keep them on track.  I am going to continue doing my best and try to improve what "best" means for me.

    All in all I'm doing pretty well, just super busy.  I don't see it letting up this year at all, especially not fourth quarter.

    I hope you are all well.  I'll swing by in bits and chunks as I can chip away some time.

  • Story from last night

    I actually wrote this up last night, but I decided I want to share if for no other reason than to remind people to watch their backs.  This happened between 10 and 11 last night - obviously now I'm home, and safe, but I thought I should throw that in the top here.

    I just got in from dance classes and I'm all wound up so let me tell y'all what happened on my way home tonight. swearing below the break

  • Summer fun

    I am on the move all the time.  I walk maybe 15 - 18 miles a week.  I am in THREE dance classes now, and go out dancing often a fourth night as well.  It's summer, the weather is gorgeous, and what's not to love?  I'm not good at sitting indoors, though.

    Work is going about as well as can be expected.  I'm in the middle of two projects - a big one and a small one - and they are keeping me busy.  There are parties to attend outside of work, and there are people I've met in my dance classes that I'm meeting up with outside of classes and you see how it is.

    If I could figure out how to blog from my iPhone, I'd probably blog more.  Um, is there an app for that?  *chuckle*  I'll have to go look. 

    Other than that - the album below?  Awesome stuff.

  • I'm not out of words

    ... but I'm out of big blocks of them.  Saturn in Virgo maybe?

    I started a second dance class a couple weeks ago.  I'm now doing tango on Tuesdays and samba on Thursdays.  My knees haven't protested too much, so I'm pretty jazzed about that!  Plus the guy that teaches my samba teaches a salsa in the hour before, so when the samba is done I can transition into an earlier salsa class and keep my two classes per week going.

    Yay!

    Not much else to tell.  I am over on twitter if any of you play with the tweets ( @craftygirl7 ) but I'm not talking too much to anyone outside the inner circle these days.  (I know how weird that sounds coming from me!)

    For those of you in the States - July 4 plans, anyone?  I'm going to clean/paint my apartment, and then stand on the roof and watch fireworks from Dodger Stadium, the Hollywood Bowl, and whoever else decides to throw em.  Last year the Scientology building on Sunset did, too, so I got three shows.

    Oooooh.  Ahhhhhh.  (*grin*)

    Oh yeah -for those of you that I know back in VA, I'm swinging out that way late October.  Hit me up if you wanna find time for coffee/beer/whatever.
